Saving a Summer Wedding at the Ghirardi Oak
We got a call for a wedding right near the Ghirardi Oak Tree in the Historic District. The bride was panicking because the venue's single indoor bathroom had backed up two days before the ceremony, and the forecast predicted ninety-degree heat with high humidity. She needed a solution that wouldn't look out of place next to the beautiful oaks but could handle 150 guests without anyone breaking a sweat.
I pulled our 3-stall luxury trailer with the climate control cranked down to 68 degrees. We parked it discreetly behind the hedge line, ran power from the main house, and stocked it with premium linens and running water. By the time the first guest arrived, that trailer was the coolest spot on the property. The reception went on until midnight without a single line forming or any plumbing disasters.
They saved my reception—it was actually nicer and cooler than the indoor bathrooms would have been.
